From the Ashes, God Brought Hope
“Six years later, the sound of the explosion has faded, but the faithfulness of God has only grown louder.”
August 4th is a day every Lebanese remembers.
The day the Beirut Port explosion devastated our city, destroyed a large part of Beirut, claimed thousands of lives, and forever changed our nation. It was also the day we thought Life Center, our ministries, and perhaps even our future in Lebanon were over.
But God had another plan.
As we look back, we do not remember only the pain, we remember the goodness of God in the midst of suffering. We remember His unfailing love, His faithfulness, and His promise that He would never leave us nor forsake us.
Most of all, we remember you, the Body of Christ. When everything around us seemed to collapse, you stood with us. You prayed, you gave, you encouraged, and you acted. God used your love to lift us up and transform what looked like the end into a new beginning.
One of the most beautiful testimonies born from those difficult days is Life Kitchen.
What began as an emergency response has become a ministry of hope, compassion, and evangelism.
During the 2025–2026 wars, the Lord opened an unexpected door for the Gospel. Three times each week, we welcomed groups of 80 to 100 displaced people to Life Kitchen. They came for a warm meal, but they also heard the Good News of Jesus Christ in an atmosphere of love, dignity, and hope.
Since this ministry began, more than 1,300 people from other faith backgrounds have heard the Gospel. Following the ceasefire, the majority returned to their hometowns, taking with them Bibles, Bible study materials, and precious memories of God’s love.
The greatest encouragement is that the ministry did not end when they left. Many continue to stay connected through WhatsApp, and around 30 people regularly travel, some by car and others by taxi, to continue attending our Bible discovery classes. We praise the Lord for the seeds He has planted and continue to pray that many more will come to know and follow Jesus Christ.
The ministry in the Bekaa Valley continues to grow, with more people joining Al Massira (Faith Discovery) groups. Our cell groups are also growing as believers gather, encourage one another, and grow in faith.
We are thankful that both the Spring of Life (SOL) Children’s Summer Camp and our Youth Summer Camp went very well. We look forward to sharing more stories and testimonies with you soon.
Thank you also for praying for my Kurdish friend, Pastor Nihad. We are grateful to share the wonderful news that yesterday he was released from prison in Syria. Praise the Lord for His faithfulness! Please continue to pray for Pastor Nihad, his family, and his ministry.
Please Continue to Pray With Us
Please pray for Life Kitchen and the Bekaa Valley ministry, as we are currently passing through a financial drought. We trust the Lord, our Provider, to meet every need.
Please pray also for our food distribution bus, whose engine has broken down while delivering food. We need to repair it urgently, and as the ministry continues to grow, we will soon need a second vehicle.
Finally, please pray for the piece of land next to our church, the last available property in Bourj Hammoud. This land is essential for the future growth of the ministry. Today, our children’s playground has become our parking area, with space for only around 10 cars. Many people want to attend church, but after searching for parking, they leave.
This property would immediately provide around 45 parking spaces, and if developed, it could eventually provide more than 100 parking spaces, along with church halls, classrooms, and ministry offices.
The purchase price is US$700,000. By God’s grace, we already have promises of nearly US$400,000, and we believe the Lord is opening this door after 20 years of suffering and prayers.
Please pray with us, and if God places it on your heart to share this opportunity with someone who has a passion for Kingdom work, we would be deeply grateful.
Please forgive us for not including photos and videos with this newsletter at this time. We would be happy to share photos, videos, and additional updates personally upon request.
Thank you for reading, praying, and standing with us. Because of your partnership, lives are being touched, children are finding hope, families are receiving help, and the Gospel continues to advance in Lebanon.
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.
Lamentations 3:22–23
With grateful hearts, we thank God for every prayer, every act of love, and every person who has stood with us during these challenging years.
Together, we have witnessed that God can bring beauty from ashes, hope from despair, and life from situations that seemed impossible.
Please continue to stand with us in prayer as we seek to serve the people of Lebanon, strengthen the Church, care for children and families, and share the love of Jesus with those who are searching for hope.
May the Lord richly bless you and your families.
With love and gratitude,
Pastor Said Dib
