April 2026

Dear friends,

As I was writing this message to you, the situation around us suddenly escalated. In less than ten minutes, more than 130 airstrikes struck Lebanon, hitting over 12 areas in Beirut and many more villages across the South and the Beqaa. Reports are still coming in, but already there are more than 300 killed and injured, and hospitals are overwhelmed, struggling to receive and care for the growing number of casualties.

Some have described these as “the heaviest airstrikes Beirut has seen since 1983,” reflecting the intensity and gravity of what is unfolding.

In moments like these, writing a newsletter can feel almost out of place. Yet we are reminded that even in the darkest times, we must not forget what the Lord has done. What you are about to read is not separate from this reality, it is happening right in the middle of it.

As fear and uncertainty rise around us, we hold on to the truth that God remains our source of hope and peace. We ask you to stand with us in prayer, for protection over families, for comfort for those who are grieving, for healing for the wounded, for wisdom for our leaders, and for the situation to calm down.

Please continue to pray for Lebanon and for peace across the Middle East.

A Week of Daily Gatherings

This year, we intentionally filled the week with daily moments to reflect on the life, sacrifice, and resurrection of Jesus, especially now, as we are surrounded by displaced families who have never heard or fully received the message of salvation.

Palm Sunday

Although the weather was rainy, it did not stop us from celebrating our King. Together with a Kurdish church, we went out into the streets to honour God, proclaiming His name with joy. It was a beautiful expression of unity and bold faith.

Monday and Wednesday

On Monday, we gathered to watch the story of Jesus as told in the Gospel of Luke. It was a simple yet powerful time of sharing, especially for those who are still discovering who Jesus is. The evening ended with fellowship, where conversations continued, relationships deepened, and hearts were opened.

And midweek, we watched “Reflections of Hope”. The film created space for people to pause and reflect on their personal journeys. Following the movie, we entered into a time of worship and prayer.

Clothes Distribution

We had the opportunity to bless families through the distribution of clothes. This time was more than simply meeting a physical need, it was a moment of connection, and a sign of care for those who need it. We are grateful for partners who help us extend God’s love in tangible ways.

Thursday

One of the most impactful moments of the week was our foot-washing service. In a culture where dignity is often tied to status, this act of humility spoke deeply. As we washed one another’s feet, we were reminded of Jesus’ love and servant heart.

Good Friday

On Good Friday, we watched the play our youth have previously performed “Heaven’s Gates, Hell’s Flames”. At the same time, while the adults were being reminded of Jesus’s great sacrifice for them, we created a space for the children to engage through the reason for easter, egg colouring and activities. This allowed families to experience the evening together, each in a way they could understand and connect with.

Easter Saturday

Saturday was lighter and filled with joy. We gathered with our youth for egg painting and fellowship. Laughter, creativity, and simple moments of connection reminded us how important it is to create safe and joyful spaces, especially in a season where many young people carry heavy burdens.

Easter Sunday

Last but not least, we started Easter morning with a sunrise breakfast. Sharing a meal together at the start of such a significant day created a sense of family and belonging.

This was followed by our Easter church service, where we celebrated the resurrection of Jesus. The atmosphere was filled with joy and worship. It was a reminder that even in the darkest seasons, life and victory belong to Him.

Beqaa Ministry

We must also not forget the ministry in the Beqaa. It has been thriving as well, sharing in the same Easter events and gatherings. Despite the challenges in the region, the Beqaa ministry continues to grow, bringing together believers, serving families, and celebrating the hope of the resurrection just as we did in Beirut.

A Vision For Our Children

In the midst of all these activities, God has been highlighting a specific need in our community.

One moment that deeply impacted our team was with a young child who, often, would gently ask if we could take them to a playground. It was never a big request, just a simple desire to play, to run freely, and to feel like other children.

Over time, we came to understand that their parents, despite their love and care, are unable to provide these outings due to financial hardship and life circumstances. This reality is made even harder by the fact that in Lebanon, there are very few accessible public playgrounds or safe outdoor spaces for children.

This moment stayed with us because it represents something much bigger. Many of the children we serve carry stress, instability, and limitations far beyond their age. Play is not just entertainment, it is essential. It supports emotional healing, social development, creativity, and a sense of normalcy.

This is why we are planning to upgrade our playground. if you would like to help us provide such a space, please feel free to contact us using the email provided at the bottom of the page.

The current situation vs the vision:

Thank you

We are deeply grateful for your continued support, prayers, and partnership. Everything we are able to do is made possible because of your faithfulness and generosity. Together, we are not only meeting needs, we are sharing hope, building community, and pointing people to Jesus.
